When Sue & Craig Richey started Richey Property Management back in 2006, they started as a sideline service for their clients. They have been licensed Realtors since 1998 and also own rental properties in the area and understand what it takes to be a landlord and the stresses that come along with that. Over the years, they had more and more clients, friends and fellow Realtors refer people to them who need help renting and managing their homes. Fast forward to today and the company has grown to over 700 properties and 14 employees.
The goal here has always been to provide personalized service and communication with all our clients on the front end while using great technology and systems on the back end to manage the entire process effectively. And the people make a difference – everyone is not cut out for property management and we only hire the BEST!
Our team takes a hands on approach to working with our clients from the beginning. We help prepare the property for rent, qualify tenants and manage the property through the lease term. From the first walk through until you decide to move back in or sell the property, we are there every step of the way, working for you.
In addition to running the business, Sue and Craig and very actively involved in many community and volunteer organizations. “We believe we must give back – it’s part of who we are.'' Sue is the Chairman of the Board at the Fairfax County YMCA in Reston, VA. She has served on other Boards over the years and was involved in Leadership Fairfax and the Junior League of Northern Virginia. Craig has been involved with the Vienna Rotary since 2005 and is currently the Vice President of the club and soon to be President.
In addition to community work, Sue and Craig and involved in industry organizations. Craig has been the President of the local NARPM chapter for many years and has also served on the State Board. NARPM is an organization that works to provide education and leadership in the residential property management world. We are always learning “best practices” from other professionals around the country and bringing them back to our business so we can always improve. We work hard to stay current with landlord/tenant laws, property maintenance issues & materials and general business management. We love what we do and our goal is to make owning your rental property hassle free.
